George Abbott

George Abbott was born in Guildford in 1562 and attended the Royal Grammar School. One of Guildford's most famous sons, he rose to become Archbishop of Canterbury in 1611 and gives his name to many features around Guildford, most notably Abbott's Hospital which he founded in 1619.

The George Abbott room is on the lower ground floor and has no natural light.
