Volunteering opportunities
The Guildford YMCA is an association of professionals and volunteers whose purpose is to offer people opportunities of personal growth and service to others. Volunteers enjoy being part of a committed team where their skills can play a vital part.
There are several volunteer opportunities within the Guildford YMCA. Some are ongoing, and others may be occasional as needs arise within the organisation.
Current opportunities exist for:
Volunteer Café assistants
- Are you interested in working with young people?
- Are you free between 4-6pm on some weekdays or 1-6pm on Saturday?
Volunteer Café assistants are always welcome to help during Plantation Café shifts. This is relational work, ideal for anyone interested in youth work, so a commitment of several months would be required. The right volunteers will:
- have a heart for young people
- undergo a CRB check
- be sympathetic to the YMCA’s Christian ethos and
- be able to tolerate loud music!
Plantation Café is located off Market Street, Guildford. The website is www.plantationcafe.org.uk
If you’re interested please contact Cassie Philpot on 01483 888122 or email her at cphilpot@guildfordymca.org.uk
